Started off as possibly one of the worst days at ISB.

7: 30 a.m.: iPhone touchscreen conks

8.30 a.m.: Laptop conks off, doesn’t allow me to login

8.40 a.m.: Realize I cant call anyone; Can’t remember the telephone code; IT wont pick up

11 a.m.: Laptop finally accessible

5 p.m.: iPhone runs out of battery. Miraculously starts working

7 p.m.: Get selected for the Golden Seeds PE project

8 p.m.: Get dressed and head out for dinner with T and S

8.15/8.30 p.m.: Walking to the ’08 Lounge. Still think the cab that’ll take us to Ista Thai is waiting there. See candles there;think T has arranged for a cozy dinner.

8.30 p.m.: K pops up from behind a rock wearing a Tilak topi and a rock of his own. Does not register until he bends down on one knee. “Tu majhyashi lagnaa karshil ka” he goes. This is accompanied by champagne, gooey chocolate cake, a collage and a bunch of karaoke tracks. Did I forget the diamond ring!

Just had what was possibly the worst (or 2nd worst) Diwali of my life! Spent the whole day sleeping, having lunch all by myself and watching a movie, all by myself again. Wish I was home
